The site is fine, members always disagree at certain intervals. I've only been here for 15 months and I've seen it happen every 2 or 3 months. Some ppl have been around for years, so I am sure they have seen it a lot more than me.

Locking threads instead of deleting lets ppl look back at them and figure out why they've been locked. Just deleting them doesn't solve anything, ppl cannot learn lessons about what will and won't be tolerated if they don't have anything to look back on. Sort of a way to learn from others mistakes. Some ppl say, "If a thread is locked, the person being flamed cannot respond." Exactly the point. The idea is to stop the flaming, not start a new thread after the old one gets locked. This is a last resort for a mod, it's what they do when ppl are acting too immature to stop the nonsense on their own.

The bitching will stop....eventually. And members who are a constant problem will be banned permanently, not just temporarilly, and the sun will rise again tomorrow.
