hi there people,im anewbie to the forums aswell,i have just started growing and i w
would like some advice,ive read the faq,but am a bit confused.Here goes:
1. is it possible to make my own bubbler[self watering system] out of either plastic or copper tubbing,some 3 litre coke bottles with the bottom cut off and turned upside down and connected into the pipe or tubbing and it has to be water tight so the water can travel from the bottle into the pipes,you have about 6-8 bottles and at the bottom of the tubbing you have a valve which you controll the water output to either free flowing or to a constant drip,is this possible or should i buy one or just not bother.
2. im using ionic ferts,and the guide on the bottle says to mix 7mls into 1 litre of water,now somone else has said to start off with just 1-2mls to a litre of water and see how that goes.
3. i have a 400 watt hps system with ballist and im growing under the stairs,how far does the light need to be away from the tips of the plant,because i got told if it is 3 or more feet/foot it will not work,so at the moment i have the light at 2and a half feet away,is this to close or to far away.
4. i have got 7 plants on the go and they are about 8 inches high and they are all different strains,ive got northern lights,bubbalisous, nl-shiva, snow white and northern lights big bud,is it okay to have so many strains in one grow room.
5. i got told that when you switch the light cycle to 12/12 from 18/6,that you need to make sure that the plants have to be at least 7 nodes high,is this true.
6.also how big do i get the plant before i start using ferts,i have been told many things,somone said wait for the first true leaves to come through.
please could somone advise me on these topics.thankyou peace and k+ to all that respond .

I would suggest you copy-and-paste your post into a new thread over in one of the Grow Forums. It'll get a lot more expert attention there than it will here.
