Making vaporizer at home, have question

You will see a light mist, not smoke but mist, that is vapor. Right when I see that happen, I shake the bulb (as per experimentation, and directions reguarding eagle bills vaporizer). What this does is release TONS of the mist. If you do it right, its a super clean hit. If you hold it too long, you get smoke instead of the mist.

So I'm making myself the lightbulb vaporizer, but all I can find is the lightbulbs that are white, not clear. I dont' know if it's correct, but I heard from one person that you should only use a clear one because the shit used to make them white can damage your brain. anybody know what the true case for this is? also, I have some clear ones but they're very long and thin, would that still work ok? This is just frustrating me fucking hell out of me. No matter how long I hold, if I don't keep it there till the damn thing is filled with disgusting tasting smoke, it doesn't do a thing, doesn't get me high at all. I don't know what the fuck to believe with these stupid lightbulbs anymore.
