Question about perscription pills, and alcohol..

I am currently taking some Effexor XR (Anti-depressant). I know you can't drink alcohol while your on this pill. But, does that mean you can't drink when you take a pill? (I take one a day) Or does that mean don't consume any alcohol cuz the pills are still in my system? So i was thinking that i just not take a pill on the day i wanna drink? what do you guys think?

My understanding of anti depression Medication is that it can take up to a week for it to fully get into your system and work.
so the reverse would also apply..
Benzo's and booze can be fun.
but I wouldnt mess with serious meds and alc...
dont do it....
