Yes you can use distilled white vinegar at the rate of one teaspoon per gallon of water to lower Ph about one point. Use more if you need to lower the water even more but let it set after you mix it for about 3-min each time. You can also use the juice from real lemons too. Baking soda will work to raise the Ph as well.

What I have found is these work but not for long at all and you play the Ph up and down game all the time. If you can just buy some Ph up and Ph down they work longer and hold the Ph better.
