How can a band be overrated? Their success is directly based on the fans. Obviously if they have a lot of fans, they must be good. Greenday's music now, is complete crap compared to their 90's stuff. Dookie, Insomiac, Nimrod, all great albums. I can remember a time when the only people that listened to Greenday were punks and generally just people who post on here. Now it's little 12 year old girls, and MTV. I've said it before and i'll say it again, Coldplay is special because they actually make good music, compared to the crap coming out these days.

good poiont though natural mystic about being overated.But some bands are overrated,no matter how ya slice it...after all poplularity has nothing at all to do with talent.And do not take ne offense with my coldplay bashing.I just think they fucking suck.

When i heard the new coldplay song it was so blatantly them because its using a very very similiar formula to the rubbish on the last album too.

One reason i just simply can't enjoy them, is that their drummer is shit, I'm better than him, and hes makin all the money!

well, he isnt baaaad, just not very good thats all. Doesn't stand out.

Although he did only start learning AFTER he'd joined the band.

Agreed, Oasis are the Dons. I'm a fan of stuff like that as well as heavier stuff like Metallica, Pantera and Maiden(all that). But some of the best music to listen to when high, for me anyway, is trance. Give it a try.

Is that what you want? I agree that coldplay are better than most of the shite put out nowadays, but thats more of a reflection on the popular music scene, and its incredible simplicity. Talent should be reserved for the greats like mozart(who died penniless), hendrix, beethoven, etc... ppl who try to put a spin on all the stuff thats goin round during there time, and sometimes they come out with something that no1's ever done before. Not just a good band like Coldplay

alright no need to be modest. and there is the element of the other band members being good, the band being good as a whole, gap in the market for the type of music and luck getting a record deal its not ALL about talent.

i would say 3/4 of bands out there are no good.listen to their cd's and then go see them live.THEY SUCK and sound nothing like they do on a cd,its all about the computers baby.

i really dont like coldplays type of music but my wife has the cd and it isnt too bad.
