    rock is dead

There's barely any good new hard rock anymore. The system of a down album is OK, but in a regular time BYOB would never get the play time it gets. This little band, skillet, is pretty cool. Don't know if you all have heard of them yet, I bet they're going to rise up. I heard Stone Sour is coming out with a new album, that should be nice......

Now the local station is mostly playing older stuff and 90's crap. Like rage against the machine, machine head, pearl jam, allice in chaines, soundgarden, etc.

As far as the "old" stuff I'm hearing a fair amount of ozzie, ac/dc, led zepplin, hendrix, GNR, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Lynyrd Skyrnyrd is one of the best bands ever, and Sweet home Alabama is the only song I seem to be able to stand hearing over and over.

We need another great band to come through. I don't get why the Limp Bizkit album had now singles, I personally thought it was pretty good concidering it is just half an hour. And now there is no rock on mainstream radio or on mtv2. And mtv should start eating dog shit for all I care, it is the most poser-esque station on the plannet. I whatch PBS more. And they just promote crappy punk rock from bands with groupies who are virgins and hip hop shit from the cars that need mufflers.

well.... music these days sucks, everyones all into "50 cent, akon *names more chav like songs*. but their is still a sense of rock and roll. theres nothing more i love than busting out a pink floyd cd or some black sabbath. most of the people at my shcool are like "wannna be" chavs, but i do know a few ppl who also like good ole rock and roll like me. i dont agree that rock and rll is dead, but i admit it is deftinly dying down. but the future awaits, and rock and roll cud once again lead the world!

Rock is much more than the music. It needs passion and originality. There's gotta be more behind the music than trying to make a quick buck.

wooman is right on .... it's dying down, but I'm optomistic that in the near future it's gonna explode bigtime. We need more than one good band, we need a revolution.

It seems these days you have to dig around to find good music. You'll never hear anything decent on the radio anymore (at least where I live). I have a good friend who writes new rock reviews for a website, he knows all about great music that most ppl don't haven't heard about, yet. No bullshit, either, if it sucks, he'll say, "This fucking sucks!!" No sugar coated candy assing around. I'll call him and get the link for the website, maybe you'll find something worth your time on there you like. He's never steered me wrong.
