Five years ago Columbia supplied America with about 90% of our precious cocaine. In response the government started a project that involved converting ex-B52 bombers into crop dusters and spraying vast areas of Columbia with herbicides that also kill the crops of innocent civilians trying to support themselves. The cartels have shot down a few of the planes, resulting in some deaths. Despite it all, Columbia still provides America with 90% of its cocaine at a higher purity and cheaper price than ever.
They are suspected of using genetically modified coca plants that yeild more cocaine and will soon be growing herbicide resistant strains.

The Bush administration proposes we spend another $750 million doing the same thing that has gotten us no where.
