Once again I'm flabbergasted that in this age of sexual awareness, such myths are still being perpetuated. Well, at least now I can stop wondering how people still continue to get STDs & have unwanted pregnancies.

While masturbating (male) prior to sex may result in a smaller 'load' & somewhat lower sperm count (temporarily!), it won't help prevent pregnancy. Remember the film from sex ed? One egg, one sperm. It only takes *one* swimmer to penetrate the egg, & voila! You're a daddy.

And now for the other bit of misinformation... the male birth control pill is actually not available yet. It is still in clinical trials in Europe (Netherlands, to be specific). Reports about when it will be released onto the market vary from later this year, to 5 or 10 years down the road. Another male birth control device, similar to Norplant (the sticks under the skin in the arm), has been tested in both Europe & the U.S.

i'm with the person above me...dude there is no assurance of non pregnancy unless you just don t' have sex. so please don't fill people with these ideas becasue i feel sorry for the first person that tries this and finds out th ehard way it doesn't work. even if a doctor tells a chic or a dude they could never get pregnant, that doesn't mean it won't happen so this is even more of a chance of getting someone pregnant.

What gets me is how sure mytm seems of this knowledge. If he had posted this as a question of "I heard.....is this true?" I would congratulate him on trying to become better informed. But to put his out as a fact and then later argue mellowmood's point.....well......that's just flabbergasting!!

^On a more serious note, let me explain how my daughter was created. I normally do not go into graphic details about sex with my wife because I'm not 15 anymore but in this case I think it's warrented.

Anyhow, my wife and I had been visiting with her parents for 10 days. For whatever reason ("what if they hear us?" "Feels weird" etc) she did not want to have sex in their house.
