Falling asleep!!
Wats happenin people,
I'm only in my 20's and previously ive never had any trouble with sleeping, no matter what time, no matter where I am!!
Lately I have found I am shattered when I get into bed, BUT as soon as I switch off lights and any sound, My thoughts are quite fast and am currently finding difficulty in getting a decent nights sleep!!
My mate gave me some of his wobblys the other night and had some diazapan or temazapan (i is prescribed to my pal), and I crashed out like a Baby!
MY QUESTION IS SHOULD I SEE MY DOCTOR?, OR SHOULD I JUST CARRY ON WITH THIS LACK OF SLEEP!!

I got the same problem. I don't really like taking sleeping pills though they make me feel weird when i'm trying to fall asleep. I just have to get baked then i sleep no problems.

-listen to relaxing music, pink floyd or bob marley for example
-smoke few hits
-drink some herbal tea (i drink some called dormiphen)
-when u drink few beers its a lot easier to fall asleep too
- concentrate on your respiration

Im a Personal Trainer and Activities Co-ordinator within a large hotel chain and although only work 16hours per week, I have quite a high pressure job for somebody with such expanive "extra curricular" activities as myself!
I work on Mondays and Tuesdays 6am till 2.30pm, its an early shift but if I fail to get any sleep on Friday, Saturday and Sunday(Often likely, as im off partying places and at the games home and away)!. I am physically and mentally powerful/fit and have gained respect from my colleagues for previous successes.
I need to keep this job so I can maintain my "honest income"!

Ok, if you are having problems sleeping the MOST important thing to start getting good nights of sleep is routine. I hate routines personally and would rather go without sleep than start one, but... things like having the same cd mix for when you go to sleep, or have a bit to eat, grab a drink, read for 15 min and then kill the lights. Who knows, whatever works for you. Pills are bad news but you know that already. If you keep having problems sleeping, just plan for less sleep. Maybe your body is telling you, I don't want to rest I want to go. So... stay up an extra hour, if your just going to toss and turn for an hour, why not do something constructive instead. Just some thoughts. I would talk to a doctor, just to get another opinion. Hypnothearopy may be a worthwhile route as well. As would a couple meetings with a psychiatrist (I think everyone one should take a couple visits every few years, just for good measure). My psychiatrist helped me with sleep when I was in high school, with the whole routine thing, helped me find things that worked for me. Anyways good luck, and watch out for those pills.

Cheers for the advice people but this is England and we aint really as down with psychiatrists, as it appears in US lots of people are making lots of money, for giving names to anything they can create!
I "studied"haha, for 4 years for advanced personal trainers certificates and have learned more information regarding health issues, and Fitness Industry etc, than most Doctors could tell you.
I can know all the info in the world, BUT ITS A DIFFERENT ISSUE WHEN ITS REGARDIN YOURSELF!
