I agree with mellow's tips, & would like to add also: taking a nice hot bath ('specially while drinking some herbal tea like chammomile). I personally like to go to bed a lil high & put the radio on 'sleep' (where it automatically shuts off) for 20 minutes or so... I always listen to the BBC, lol!

Maybe try acupuncture? It's been known to help with insomnia.

Wats happenin people, I'm only in my 20's and previously ive never had any trouble with sleeping, no matter what time, no matter where I am!! Lately I have found I am shattered when I get into bed, BUT as soon as I switch off lights and any sound, My thoughts are quite fast and am currently finding difficulty in getting a decent nights sleep!!
