Man, that's a fucked up way to look at it. I'm not necessarily disagreeing, since it probably would be a factor sometimes. In California, people with a third felony conviction get life; it's called the "three strikes and you're out" law. People with two convictions under their belts often go down in a blaze of bullets even over a minor third felony offense. A lot of times they are the one's involved in the tv news car chases.
But the history of child molesters is that they will molest dozens and sometimes hundreds of children. Life in prison is the only answer to stopping them.
