US laws are starting to change...too slowly, but at least for the better. In some states, it's now a one strike and you're out. State legislators are finding that the people in their states are fed up with scumbags ruining the lives of countless children, so they are pushing for a law where if you molest ONE child under the age of 12, you get life in prison. Solves that problem, I say.

I live in a private, gated community and we just passed a by-law in which anyone convicted of a sex offense may not rent or own property here. A convicted child molester was evicted immediately. Why the hell he wasn't in jail after raping two little kids is beyond me...

Jackson will go to jail if convicted on the molestation charges, or the weaker conspiracy charge. He faces more than 20 years in state prison. He would only get probation if convicted on the charges of giving kids alcohol. He faces 28 separate counts. Even if he is found guilty of the tougher charges and appeals, the very earliest date that an apeals court would hear his case is six months.

The jury has no time limit for deliberations, but if it goes until the end of next week, then they may end up "hung". That would mean another trial, right from the start, with a new jury. Six more months of the same testimony. There's no way the prosecutor will drop the charges, which would be his option. He wants Jackson blood.
