I think the Naziism parallels are a lot more complicated with that. Think of how George W. Bush is using Sept 11th and the so called Terror Threat to take away constitutional rights from his own people (PATRIOT act?).

Hitler used the 1933 (I think it was 1933 but I'm too lazy to go check now) Reichstag fire to brew fear in his own people and then take away their rights under the pretense of national security.
