Goodman...its not a matter of losing face, if we leave iraq now it will litterally blow up in civil war, the figure we took out was saddam, and even tho his oder was fear based...it was the only order there was. now there are many different parties fighting for power. This isnt as easy as saying ok lets leave now, because its become more complicated than that.

I think the Naziism parallels are a lot more complicated with that. Think of how George W. Bush is using Sept 11th and the so called Terror Threat to take away constitutional rights from his own people (PATRIOT act?).

I LOVE the people who think that criticism of Bush or the war is a direct insult to the troops. "You don't support Bush? My cousin is over in Iraq and I can't believe you want the terrorists to kill him!" Madness. This is the way I see it...The military is merely a tool that the government has - a tool that happens to be made up of people. I always support the troops because I want them to perform their function and succeed, which definitely outweighs the alternative. What happens when you misuse this tool is that the people in it die unneccessarily. So in conclusion, I always support the troops, but not always the scumbags who send them into combat.
