I've eaten shrooms at least a hundred times and have only had two bad shroom trips.

1st Bad trip-I ate about an 1/8th of pretty stong shrooms right before the start of a Grateful Dead concert. I was doing really good towards the end of the first set and having a great time. During the set break, however, two things set me down the road to a bad trip. First of all, my girlfriend took off for a bit and some guy came up to me and asked for a smoke. I started to get one for him and pulled like three or four out of the pack. They kind of merged with my fingers and I couldn't tell what was my finger and what was a smoke. I started to freak out a bit cause I didn't want this guy to smoke my fingers. He could tell I was a bit out of my head and told me no problem and left without a smoke.

I would probably have been fine if that was all that happened but shortly afterwards this girl comes up to me and asks if she could borrow my ticket to get her boyfriend in to the reserved seating section since he had lost his. Me and my friends usually had good seats for shows and since we were almost always tripping ot shrooming we had made a point to always tell each other to "NEVER LOSE THE TICKET OR YOU CAN'T COME BACK". Well, that was stuck in my head so when this chick asked for my ticket it was like she wanted to take my soul or something. Like the previous guy she could tell I was totally off my rocker and took off (without the ticket of course). I couldn't shake her from my head though and started to think she was a demon trying to get my soul. I really started to feak when fortunately, my girlfriend got back and calmed me down a bit. Even though I had mellowed out a bit the trip had gone bad and little things would set me off. Like she mentioned going to Taco Bell after the show and I started to think about the meat. I mean its really finely ground, kinda not like meat at all. That freaked me out a bit too. Actually after that I stayed away from Taco Bell for several years. So, it wasn't like ghosts screaming nonstop but all those little things that would normally be fun were crazy.


The 2nd bad trip I had was much worse. This time I had eaten a lot (at least a 1/4) of really good shrooms shortly after breaking up with the previously mentioned girlfriend. Me and a friend had eaten them together and had gotten a bunch of movies to watch. Everything was going well until about abot two hours into my trip. By that time I was shrooming my balls off with major hallucinations and shit. Totally out of my head. My friend got up to go to the other room for some reason while I was alone I started to worry that I had eaten too many and was going to die. He came back and reassured me that I was just tripping and would be fine. That helped a little but the seed for a bad trip had been planted.

A while later we somehow managed to get another movie into the VCR(remember those?) . It was some really freaked out psychological horror movie and was definitely a really bad choice. A while into the movie I started to think I was going insane. Then, having just broken up with my girlfriend, I staretd to get these really strong feeling of loneliness. I started to think I was totally crazy and would end up wandering the streets as a lonely homeless schitzophrenic. This really, really disturbed me and made the rest of the trip absolutely terrible. That was 10 years ago and I haven't shroomed since then. Even writing about it freaks me out.
