I guess everyone ha stheir own method of cultivation. Personally I would never clip any plant that was only 4 weeks from germination. I don't clip mine until in the late stages of vegitation. I just beleive that clipping anything of that isn't completely dead in that stage of life will stunt the plant. And you are correct on the sexual dysfunction of plant stress. The chances are low of it turning male or hermie but I'd rather not take a chance at all.
