I believe the curch shouldn't be involved. PERIOD. Do you guys realise what youre saying? Church's have NO right to rally people to fight in war unless absolutely necessary. Sixth commandment, Thou shalt not kill. Soldiers get recruited. Some shoot m-16's some fly planes that drop bombs and some shoot missles from tanks. Almost all of these options include civilian casualties at one point or another, intentional or not. People get signed up to (unintentionally) kill people that have never even thought about hurting the united states.
Another reason is the control factor. One of the reasons i became an antitheist was because I hated how the churches control people. Especially the churches in the u.s. of a. The preachers tell you that you're this and you're that. That you're weak. Then they come in and offer one way out and that's by submitting to God and doing whatever they tell you. Whether anyone believes it or not, they act in the same manner that the government (the one we're protesting against now) is doing.

"You smoke weed? fuck you, God hates people who smoke weed." Even though cannabis is glorified in the bible several times in the same mainstream teachings we learn about in sunday school.

People listen to them and since they spread "good faith" they believe them and blindly follow. I dont believe God wants this. They sit on their fucking pulpits all high and mighty. They tell you to that our society is crumbling and insist we pray for all our sins. Then they ask you for a collection and you reach down and feed em because if you don't God won't like it. Nobody bothers to ask why we see the minister driving around in a mercedes and poor people still need food to eat. They make us feel like shit and rob us of our money that goes nowhere near doing "God's work". Now we want to let them recruit our brothers and sisters and our sons and daughters to fight in a war rife with greed, corruption and the breaking of a whole slew of international laws? We actually would ALLOW ministers to manipulate a person's belief and let them believe that God thinks what's going on in Iraq is alright? There is NO CONSPIRACY here. I really mean that with no sarcasm. It's a simple logical chain.

Step 1: Have a President that believes in Christianity. (supposedly this means Bush because he opposes gay marriage and prays in front of a camera once in a while).

Step 2: Have him lobby for integration of church and state to intrigue the clergy.

Step 3: The clergy then rallies for his support and condemns the "EVIL" democrat who supports the rights of gays to marry but who also realised that moving into Iraq was a mistake and wanted to pull the troops out as soon as possible saving many lives.

Step 4: Let the church propaganda increase and lead the lambs to slaughter. Not only will the parishoners garnish them with their hard-earned money as thanks for leading their children on the "holy" path of "righteousness" the cozy relationship between government and church grows. The government provides the media outlet and funding to recruit and the church rallies the sheep.

Step 5: Take over the world using peace and love as a front for invasion and senseless murders of thousands. I love fucking up other people's lives that definitely don't deserve it.

Don't let wolves in sheep's clothing manipulate you. Don't go to hell just because you allowed someone else to tell you whats right.
