Dear God my brother is dumb sometimes...

Well my brother is only a year younger than me, but very different. He doesn't do so well in school and he's a big stoner, and he hangs out with a lot of racist idiots that I dislike. But we've been getting along better for about a year now, and tonight we were smoking up together and having a pretty good time. Then he said something which freaked me the fuck out and reminded me just how fucking clueless he can be sometimes. The conversation went like this:

M= My brother S=Stedric

M: "Wanna hear something funny?"
S: "Sure..."
M: "Know who Olan is?"
S: "No...who?"
M: "He's some kid who lives around here, he got expelled from school for selling crystal meth."
S: "I see..."
M: "*laughs* Yeah, I saw him trying to break into our house with a crowbar on Friday."

He then proceeded to laugh about it, but stopped when he realized my face looked something like this " ". So he saw some speed freak trying to jimmy open our front door, and waits until 2 days later to tell me. To make matters worse, he tells it to me AS A FUCKING JOKE instead of something to be worried about.

Please God let him be adopted...

Well, it dont seem to me he was kidding or he would have said joking to him after, wow, is your brother that messed up on drugs he would laugh at something like that?? that is crazy!!!!!! so, now that you know about it, what are you going to do, do u know who the kid is now that your brother told u about him? thats pretty scary knowing a meth head was trying to break in, he might try again, what stopped him? the crow bar didnt work, well, guess not, thats good, damn!!! and your brother seen him and didnt do nothing??? He's only 15, I'm 17. Yeah and it wasn't his friend either, Noosa, just some kid he's seen around.

I locked all the doors and tommorow I'm going to the police, altough I doubt they'll do much. I have a big dog though, so I'm not TOO worried. Still...it makes me pretty freaking nervous.

Have you considered the possibility, however slight, that your bro might be experimenting with the meth himself and he was just gauging your response before he told you more?
Sometimes joking about something is a non-threatening way to divulge some info.
Anyone trying to break into my place would freak me out whether they were a meth head or not. Here, in Hawaii, we have a problem with smokable meth they call ice and it is a really ugly thing to witness.

Careful, they have to actually break in, or be leaving with your property with no reasonable chance of recovery for you to use lethal force (unless of course they pose a threat to your safety, like if he saw you and started running at you w.the crowbar).

It might hold up in court, the odds would be in your favor, but I wouldn't risk picking off a kid from the OUTSIDE, that is just attempting to break in, even in TX. (more research is in order here, because it's an interesting situation. If you enter your home, and someone has already broke in, they are game for sure, but this is a grey area I think).

Anyways, Sted wouldn;t be down w/that even if in tx though man. I think he's more concerned about his brothers flippant attitude about the whole situation.
