The way we do it round here: Someone is breaking in to your house, wait for them to get in and then you OWN them. Call the cops when you are done with them and you feel like letting them go.
I dont just assume that dude wants to steal my stereo, I assume he wants to rape my daughter, and that is an offence punishable by death. Assume the worst and punish accordingly.

I agree, irresponsible people shouldn't have guns. If someone doesn't feel good about having a gun, then by all means they shouldn't own one. I'm not trying to convince anyone to get a gun, and I don't want this or any other thread turn degenerate into an argument about guns or anything else, so I'll just say to each his own. As long as you don't try and take my guns away you're welcome to have any opinion you wish on the matter.
