There is 2 types of weed.. Sative and Indica.

Those are species of weed, not strains. Each species is further divided up into strains, which are the equivalent of breeds of animals. As stated, there are thousands of weed strains. Strains are generally taxonomically useless, however, since the divisions are largely arbitrary.
