Actually when I used to be in the lifting programs for basketball we used to have 2 hour workout sessions followed by a practice sometimes too. It all just depends on how you spend those two hours. When you are working out legs and arms on the same day time flies by faster than you'd think.

and yeah, protein is what makes muscle.. you can lift all you want, but if you dont eat right and get enough protein, nothing will happen
well it is non optional, in order to play football at my school you have to go to our summer conditioning course, an hour for lifting weights and an hour for running, and agility work

1 hour for lifting weights every day is way too much. You overtrain your muscles thus no gains are made. Lift 2-3 times a week

we have lots of things in common....I played high school football, I workout for 2 hours about 5 (sometimes 6) times a week....I'm taking whey protien, that is the only supplement i suggest you take, creatine may work for you if you are really thin and trying to ack on mucle bulk.

Protien works great for me, I've added lots of muscle, although protien is not a muscle enhancer. It simply helps you keep your muscle and feeds it helping you recover.

Keep in mind all bodies are diffrent and everyone has a different goal, I have a big body mass and I'm trying to get as lean as I can by shedding off body fat and adding muscle at the same time. It's tough for me to lose wieght though.

All in all, my experience with whey protien is great. I recommend you continue using it.

P.S. There is no such thing as working out too much. My freind is a body builder (has entered several competitions) and he spends at least 4 hours in the gym 6 times a week (sometimes 7) bu8t that's only when he's going out for competition. Like I said everyone's goals are different, the harder you work the better the results. my 2 cents
