The adverse effects of Coricidin, Alconefrin, Dionephrine, Neo-Synephrine, Nostril, and Rhinall:

Central Nervous System- Fear, anxiety, tnseness, restlessness, headache, light-headedness, dizziness, drowsiness, tremor, insomnia, hallucinations, psychological disturbance, convulsions, CNS depression, weakness, blurred vision, ocular (eye) irritation, tearing, photophobia, symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia.

Cardio-Vascular System- Cardiac arrhythmias (Irregular heart actions)

Gastro-Intestinal System- Nausea, Vomiting, Anorexia.

GU (genitals/urinary system)- Constriction of renal blood vessels and decreased urine formation (initial parenteral administration), dysuria (painful or difficult urination), vesical sphincter spasm (resulting in difficult and painful urination), urinary retention in males with prostatism.

Local- Necrosis (the death of areas of tissue or bone surrounded by healthy parts) and sloughing if extravasation occurs with IV use.

Other- Pallor (lack of color, paleness), respiratory difficulty, orofacial dystonia (rhythmic jerks of the mouth), sweating

Drug to Drug interactions could cause Severe Headache, hypertension, hyperpyrexia, possibly resulting in hypertensive crisis with MAO inhibitors (isocarboxazid, phenelzine, tranylcypromine. Do not administer sympathomimetic amines to patients on MAOIs- Increased sympathomimetic effects with TCAs (eg. imipramine)- Excessive hypertension with furazolidone- Decreased antihpertensive effect of guanethidine, methyldopa- Potential for serious arrhythmias with halogenated hydrocarbon anesthetics.
