ick that's what my romulan plant has. I'm afraid that my brownish greyish spots are from insects though. be on the lookout.

yeah, it does sound like a ph prob but hard to say for sure without pics. but i too was getting large spots on fan leaves until testing the tap water and finding it very hard (9.0). after getting 'ph-down' and several weeks of work they're all fully recovered. now i only treat the water every other week...

my ph level on the strip said it was fairly acidic, but im not sure how well these strips are. the spots arent that big they are actualy small. i have another question. the set of leaves 1 up are both 3 leaf patern. i was just wandering if there is something i should know?

hmmmm.. u know what? i wouldn't worry about it, if the lower leaves aren't getting quite enough light (this happens often for me in the seedling phase) then they will usually just have brown spots, turn yellow and fall off. Once they get bigger you'll notice that at the bottom of the plant, the leaves that aren't getting any light will just drop off since they are a waste of energy to have around for the plant. If they don't turn yellow in about a week and drop off I'd worry, and also if the new upper leaves get it, then it's either bugs or pH. So to summarize, if just the lower leaves get it and fall off, ur fine, but if the whole plant gets it, transplant and look for buggies! don't rely on aquarium strips, go get urself a soil analyzing kit (they're pretty cheap) and as for the leaflets, they don't immediately go from 3-5-7 on each node, they just get more as the plant gets older and it also depends on the genetics, sativas can get 11+ leaflets and ruderalis generally stay with 3 leaflets

here is a pic of what is going on with the browning of the leaves. the spots are mainly in the center of the leaves , on the veins. see what you think about it.
