I don't really give a crap about football (soccer), but I find it amusing that Americans say things like 'nobody cares about soccer' just because they suck at it - I mean, the USA is one of the only countries in the world that 'doesn't care about soccer'.

No people say it because they really don't care. The culture is such in America that no one pays attention to soccer. I couldn't tell you one pro soccer player from any country, let alone our own team. I could name dozens of baseball/basketball/football pro atheletes. I'm not surprised we suck, as soccer just doesn't draw the amount of interest in the U.S. as it does in other countries. I wouldn't expect the europeans to play football well.

Soccer just isn't big with us. It wasn't big with our parents, so none of us grew up with soccer in our homes, therefore we didn't have soccer in our lives. It's slowly picking up since there are many youth soccer programs developing and interest is there among the younger generations. The best soccer camps are run by british coaches who come to the us though. My brother has done several U.K. elite camps. Soccer has a LONG way to go in the U.S. before it has any notoriety like football or baseball. I couldn't give two shit about any organized sport, so don't think it's me saying soccer sucks football is awsome. Do what makes you happy I say.
