I am not ready yet but I have read that when you go to 12/12 you must make the room dark for 48 hours first. SOme sites say to just do 12/12 with no dark period or that is how I take it as no metion of 48 hours of dark cycle.


So what is the deal?

Will 6 weeks be long enough for veg?

12/12 will be fine.

Never done the 48 hours of darkness so I can't say.

If you want to harvest in 6 weeks, instead of the avg. of say 8 you can. However, make sure you don't harvest just because 6 weeks is up. The trichs may not be ready and you will have harvested bud prematurely and the stone will be shitty and short.

To facilitate your expedited harvest date, you need to shorten the hours you have her in lite... 12 / 12 WILL NOT cut it...most likely.

Cut her down to 9 - 10 hours a day. That will force more rapid flowering and resin production but you will pay for it in yield or harvest quantity.

If you choose the latter, keep the plant as dry as possible thru her 6 week flower. DRY...watering only in her "morning" cycle and do NOT water till she drips from the bottom. Just give her enuff to keep her from wilting.

Also do NOT do anything to raise the humidity of the air. Keep it as low as you can.

These steps will mimick the growth conditions they have in parts of the world where the most potent weed and by products like hash and oil grow naturally...the middle east, afghanistan. pakistan, etc...

With luck and care, you can have a small harvest of pungent smoke without sacrificing quality...just quantity.

6 Weeks veg cycle or 6 week flower cycle?

6 week veg should be plenty. Look for the alternating stems on secondary shoots.

I have sativa so it will be an 11 week flower cycle

I will go with 12/12 for this first grow to keep it simple, sort of.

If I need all 8 weeks for veg, I will but I am thinking 6 weeks is tall enough.

when I start 12/12, when should I start the flower ferts?

As it is now, I have them in 2 1/2 gal pots and is taking forever to dry out so it looks like I will only be using veg ferts once. When I find out the sex I will be putting the females into 5 gal pots and think they may only get watered twice with flower ferts

so 1 time veg ferts and 2 times flower ferts, sound about right?

yo i remember someone once posted a grow they did with starting the lights at 12/12 and it was good. is it ok to only have like a 2-3 week veg period then go to flowering? I am trying to limit the space the plants take up because of a tight area.

Sugar-Do what HARDDON and I do and have some floros be real close to the plants. This makes the distance from each set of nodes be real small and you get the full potention of the plant in a shorter height. Goodluck.

Veg in two to three weeks????

What are you aiming for....yield wise.... a joints worth?

Never tried it. I dont see how it could possibly yield anything worth the juice it takes to grow it.

If you ahve space problems, well...no problems....just lst theplant from day 3 or four. You can grow a very very very low grow with that wire shelving they sell at The Home Depot.

Force the plants to grow sideways from the get go...you can cover many square feet with one plant grown lst.

In fact my next grow will be just that... a sea of green grow.

Then I gonna grow me a tree like Zandor....though I don't know,,, my whore and cunt may turn out to be small trees in short time....
