Cleaning glass pipes

Hey my sister just passed down an old glass pipe to me, which i've never used, and i had a few questions. First of all its filled with resin, so i heard you can boil it to get it out. But.... i heard it leaves a really potent smell, is that true? Cause i dont want to get busted, so if it smells a lot i wont do it. Otherwise i was just going to scrape it, but what works best? I heard toothpicks do the trick? Then i heard just roll the resin into a ball and smoke that. Any help is appreciated.

Boiling works very good, but it leaves a coating of resin on whatever u use to boil it in; and it reeks up the whole house... get some cleanign agent like 420 bowl cleaner or something, designed for cleanin resin out... that watses it tho, the best would be to heat up by dry-hitting it then scraping it out with dental tools, and rool it into a ball and SMOKE THAT SHIT!

If it's really well resinated, use a paper clip if you don't have access to dental tools. ^^ Smoke the resin when desperate. Otherwise, don't even bother cleaning it, just make sure the bowl is clean and that it breathes well.

The best method that I have heard of is to fill your pipe with uncooked rice and water and then shake that shit around and dump it out in the toilet or wherever. After you have done this a few times, soak it overnight in nailpolish remover because nailpolish remover is nonpolar and THC is polar. I've never actually soaked my piece overnight, but after about 5 minutes of soaking it in nailpolish remover, the liquid turned from a clear to a nasty yellow. After you've let it sit for a while, rinse it out with warm water and uncooked rice again, or you could try to boil it, though I've heard that boiling glass weakens it.

DONT SOAK IT IN NAIL POLISH REMOVER!!! IT WILL LEAVE A TASTE AND SMELL OF NAIL POLISH REMOVER !!! instead use rubbing alcohol!

use rubbing alchohol with a little bit of salt,, let it soak for 30 mins and the resin will just come out with a q-tip
