Place to stay in Amsterdam

So I'm going to visit my friend in Switzerland for about a week on June 1st. I told him we have to go to Amsterdam, so that's the new plan. Does anyone know of any good, cheap places to stay in Amsterdam. We're both 18 so we don't have an ass load of cash. I'm thinking of maybe a youth hostel if there are any decent ones there. Any suggestions? Also, is there any cool stuff to see besides the coffee shops .

Mhhh do a search on google for youth hostles...
butyou know, you just walk arround and bump into them eventually so I wouldn't worry much about that if I was you.

erhm places to see? the markets.go on the boats man...de grachten are kick ass....you even get to see some pirate ship thingy ma bob.

I dunno man rest of the time I was there...i stayed in thismajorly expensive hotel and sexed the days away...
