The nature of cough syrup with all the glucose and thickening agents probably doesn't treat your kidneys too well.
Still what is most dangerous about frequent high doses of dextromethorphan (redosing included) is that it will eventually lead you into a psychosis that could linger for months after your last use.

i took zicam, which is a cough spray, not a syrup, so its the consistency of water. that should be easier on my digestive system. i'll check the ingredients.

but damn, zicam tastes SO fucking bad...
