I got busted for possesion when I was 16. Me and a friend took a short cut through a park one night when suddenly 2 cop cars came driving up. Apparently it was against the law to be in a park after dark. This was total bull shit 'cause it was a tiny little place and it was pretty obvious we weren't hanging out or anything. We were just cutting accross the corner. Anyhow, these cops jump out of their cars and are total assholes. They wouldn't even tell us what we had done wrong at first. Then they tell us to empy our pockets. I had an 1/8th of really nice buds and my pipe at the time. I tried my best to just palm the stuff but they found it.

They made a big deal of it any put everything into these big zip lock evidence bags. We thought for sure we were going to juvie but they just took us home instead. Trust me when I say you don't ever want to see the look on your Dad's face when he opens the door at 11:00 at night and sees you standing there with a cop . The cop explained to my Dad what I had done, been in the park after dark, blah blah blash, and been cited for possession of marijuana. He then gave me waht looked like a ticket and left.

About a month later my parents get a letter from the city stating how I was cited for being in a park after dark and how, athough this may seem like a minor offense, such flagrant violation of the law could lead to more serious crimes in the future. Yeah right, like taking a shortcut is a "gateway crime". We never heard anything about the buds they took though. No fines, no letters, nothing. My guess is they were enjoyed by the cops who busted us. This is in California though where the laws are pretty liberal.
