heat is VERY BAD....youll just cook them cuz you wouldnt be able to get them as close as needed without burning them up...ive already suggested a good vegging light if u dont wanna invest in an MH or HPS at the moment...i vegg with the compact floros i told u about and my plants are nice and compact...not streching ....they arent as compact as they could be dont get me wrong...but they are quiet compact to be grown on compact floros.....like i said man 1 of those bulbs is under 10 bux....and screws into any house hold fixture...and once again what i did was get those clamp shop lights b.c they burn regullar every day bulbs and will burn the compacts as well...ull just have to take off that metal shade so it will fit...plus i would think that metal shade would hold in heat from the bulb so would be best to take it off anyway.....hope you find your way m8....and to you Thug....i love your picture there with the puppy lol thats cute....peace out guys

Heat lamps emit primarily infrared (IR), not UV. Incandescent lamps emit very little UV, unless the glass is specially treated to convert some of the visible light output to UV, as in blacklight bulbs.

It isn't beneficial. Black lights emit UV-A. UV-B increases the THC content of cannabis.
