Hair Tests and Detox Shampoo

I used the shampoo once to get the job at SeaWorld, because I smoked out about a month 1/2 before the drug test. I am going on vacation for a week and i want to smoke in the beggining of the trip. It is not a guaranteed test, but what would be the chances of passing a hair test in a week, if i have the shampoo available? They give you 48 hours to get tested after you are randomly selected, so I am just wondering if the shampoo will work after being sober for a week (in case I get pulled when I come back) or if it takes about a month or so of being sober to cover the "toxins" up.

The shampoo doesn't work. At all. It can only remove surface contaminants, and will not affect substances in the hair shaft.

Thanks for the FYI. Someone told me that the place I'm trying to get a job at is now doing hair test. Holy Crap Batman! What am I to do now? I'm almost clean, been 3 weeks today, but that is only going to work for a piss test. I don't know how true the hair test is, and the application only say urine test, but what do I know. I figured if I go in there with clean urine what else can I do about the hair. I thought about buying some of that stuff, it's nice to know it wouldn't matter anyway. So anyway, there I have it, don't waist my money. One question, does anyone know if they can tell exactly how long ago you smoked it? Only reason I ask is I know it goes back like 7 years but they only ask if you have done any illegal drugs in the past 6 months. If I check no, but they still were to find it in my hair can they pin point when and for how long?

Are you sure the shampoo doesn't work? I used it about a month and a half after smoking and it helped me pass the test, and everyone else i know has used it and it has worked. I work out a lot, and sweat alot when i do, but I don't think sweat helps rid it out of your hair.

I heard somthin about shavin ur head, thats supposed to help.... I dont really know 4sure though, i was wonderin that my self because a friend of mine is applying for a job that requires hair tests.

I'm positive. Substances trapped within the hair shaft will not be removed by any kind of chemical treatment, without dissolving the hair itself. If you passed, then it was because the levels and/or usage patterns of substances being tested for were below the failure point, that's all. In point of fact, the hairs to be tested are thoroughly washed anyway in strong solvents to remove surface contaminants which may skew the test (which is either gas chromatography or mass spectrometry), before the hairs are cut up into 1/4" pieces, broken down with chemicals, cetrifuged, and the resulting soup extracted for testing.

so what do y'all think i should do? It isn't a guaranteed test (might come up-they random) and I have a week to dilute, plus any additional time that goes by w/o me getting picked-last time, i smoked ALOT of weed (at least for me and passed
