Plants die, light came loose and crushed the ladies

    Well I am done growing

I had 2 chains holding up my 600W light, well the screws came loose that were holding them. I had the plastic mounting thing to secure them up but I am guessing one was not in real good and the weight of the fall pulled the other out. I came in to see what happen and my light was out, "new horti bulb" I turned on the room light and the light fixture was on top of the plants. No survivors, either crushed or in heat shock where the bulb had laid on a couple. I think 1 might live but no light.

Don't have the cash to buy a new bulb at the moment and am pretty pissed off. I think the fan blowing on it might have jiggled it loose... I do not know.

I am done, it was fun but I'll just buy the stuff like I use too.

    Thanks for all the help

    A sad day indeed.

Don't blame the fan...blame your engineering.

    Growing weed is not easy.

It is like raising a family. You will have your ups and downs, your highs and lows, you will cherish to birth of new sprouts and mourn the loss of loved ones.

It can be a very very time consuming emotional ride.

If you are not cut out for it, then so be it.

    Its not for everyone.

My heart goes out to your lost loves.

    God BLess.

Plants die, light came loose and crushed the ladies

So I am finishing cleaning up the mess this morning, the fan is off and the noise from the light "ballast" is gone. As I move things around I hear something coming from the ceiling in my closet, sounds like an animal moving around in the attic. I went up in the attic just now and went over to where the closet ceiling is, as I move the insulation out of the way to see where I had the screws mounted and what the noise was, out jumps a small squirrel and runs off as it scared the shit out of me. As I dig a little more I noticed it had made a nest, "no babies" right in the area of where I had the screws. As I said I did use the plastic mounting things to hold the screws in so they would not come out like they did. Well I must have pissed that squirrel off because one of those plastic things was chewed off all the way down to the ceiling giving the screw no support and the other plastic mount was half chewed, enough so that the screw had no support if it was tugged. I do not know if the squirrel picked that spot because of the heat from my 600w that warmed up the ceiling or if it was just a coincidence. I want to know how the little bastard got in my attic.

All seems too funny if you ask me, now that I have slept on it and am not as pissed as I first was. I only lost a $90.00 bulb and my plants I paid about $100.00 for as seeds. That pisses me off but what can I do now. I am going to sell my stuff and just keep buying an oz at a time like I have been, been fun for a few weeks at least and if Marijuana is ever legal, I will grow again for sure.

Now I have to catch a freaking tree rat!

dont get that upset man... we all have a terrible bumpy way the first time man... if you ask me i coudnt have a succesful grow until like the 5th time... and i was soooo pissed always different mistakes...

Here at least you can say the mistake was that you didnt or whomever didnt calculate the waith of the lights well...

But dont worry man, set everything up again, and go for it again, this time be sure to secure well the lights and everything, if this was the first time you grow, then dont throw the towel!!!

go to www.seedbay.com they are great, and the prices are bad ass, youll get some for much cheaper than 100 bucks! so lets go!!!! get moving dont waste time!!

    =)

yeah, I also have been paranoid about the whole thing so....

I used this accident to step away from growing to be honest. I love how the government says weed causes paranoia and should not be legal. The only reason I am paranoid in my life is not because of Marijuana but because of the government. If I could grow without worry I would not be paranoid about anything in my life.

The governement creates PARANOIA not Marijuana. What would we be paranoid about if weed was legal? We would not wonder if someone is watching us or if the law is out to get us

well it ooks like 5 made it. They sprung back to life under my floro but the others were not so lucky. I ordered another bulb off ebay and is being shipped over night.

So now I am thinking about topping to make up for what I lost.

At what age of the plant should this be done?
