in 20 years has there been ANY solid liberal policies?
Income inequality is substantially correlated to most of society's problems. Two studies -- one by Harvard, the other by Berkeley -- those are schools...LMAO sorry ...measured income inequality in all 50 states. They found that states with greater income inequality suffered from all of the following problems:
Higher death rates for all age groups.
Higher rates of homicide.
Higher rates of violent crime.
Higher costs per person for police protection.
Higher rates of incarceration.
Higher rates of unemployment.
A higher percentage of people receiving income assistance and food stamps.
More high-school dropouts.
Less state funds spent per person on education.
Fewer books per person in the schools.
Poorer educational performance, including worse reading skills, worse math skills. Unless the Gov/Bush flubs the test records like he did in Texas..google it
Higher infant mortality rates.
In every year since 1958, America's infant mortality rate improved, or at least held steady. But in 2002, hmmmm wonder why? it got worse: 7 babies died for each thousand live births, while that rate was 6.8 deaths the year before.
Those numbers, buried in a recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, didn't get much attention. But they are part of a pattern of recent statistics dribbling out of the federal government suggesting that for those on the bottom in America, life in our new Gilded Age is getting crueler.
Higher heart disease.
Higher cancer rates. Less environmental laws...
A greater percentage of people without medical insurance.
A greater proportion of babies born with low birth weight.
A higher proportion of the population using tobacco. A higher proportion of the population being sedentary (inactive).
Higher costs per-person for medical care.
Percent of population covered by public health care:lets look....
France, Austria 99%
Switzerland, Spain, Belgium 98%
Germany 92%
Netherlands 77%
United States 40%
Children under the poverty level: this is disgusting...
United States 22.4%
Canada 15.5
United Kingdom 9.3
Switzerland 7.8
Sweden 5.0
Germany 4.9
Norway 4.8
Deaths from malnutrition (per million):
Men Women
United States 7 13
France 4 9
Canada 5 7
Japan 2 1
United Kingdom 1 2
Norway 0 1
Liberals have voted to increase the minimum wage...BTW the judge Bush just pushed through opposes the minimum wage all together...
Liberals are pro-union, and did you not hear them screaming when Bush was cutting medical care to the poor or cutting funds to head start?
Liberals are pro education...Bush has made the largest education cuts in history...
remember the tax cuts for the rich by the GOP and welfare cuts but hey Paris Hilton won't have to pay any tax when she gets her inheritance...now theres something good conservatives did!
Liberals have fought the tobacco lobby...Conservatives love phillip morris and their party donations

my best friend and his family are all black, they hate it.
byron got into a prep school with affirmative action,he was embarassed by this.did he need another break to get into princeton?to get a job?another to get a promotion?
he says black people were given a break, now they have to compete on their own merit.
not to mention that affirmative action does nothing to fight discrimination.consider the scenarios.a white guy and a black guy apply for a job.the black guy is better qualified, the white guy gets the job.thats racial discrimination.the second scenario.a white guy and a black guy apply for a job.the white guy is better qualified, the black guy gets the job.THATS AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.
now,in what sense is the second result a remedy for the first?it is not.all i see is two instances of racial discrimination.\"even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could.\"

well I have heard pros and cons on affirmative action...it helps a lot of kids that would not get into school....I know racism still exist and is extremely bad in the south. Until that form of ignorance is gone we may have to keep afirmative action type programs in place...I know Jesse Jackson supports it and I like him....I cannot make a judgement on the examples I know and the few you give...I like research but that is not one I want to tackle at the moment. The economy and politics keep me busy enough. So I will reserve judement where I am completely illiterate...
