OK well gauze is something different. A screen is what is used to hold your marijuana while you light.

A waterfall is in fact something different my friend. A waterfall is more of a bong than the gravity bong you were talking about

there are different varieties of the gravity and the water-bong.

The "waterfall" he mentioned is the commonly known "Gravity Bong"
A nice variation of the gravity bong is the

bag bong:
Instructions to make:cut off the bottom of a 2 liter pop bottle and duck tape an airtight bag with no holes to the bottle. Make sure the bag surrounds it and makes it airtight
then push your hand inside of the bottle surrounded by the bag.

For the top of this you need a 5/8" socket and some filters out of your kitchen sink(they got hundreds) stick 1 filter inside of the socket and then cut a hole on the top of the bottles bottlecap that fits into the socket. Duck tape the socket to the cap making sure its airtight. Then you screw it on the bottle, Put your cannabis powder or small pieces into the top of the socket. You can see here that the screen makes sure your weed doesn't fall through the socket and into the bottle.

Now Just put a flame too it while u pull the bag back out of the bottle. (thats what creates the suction)

Now personally I much prefer the TRUE waterfall. A waterfall is a water-bong, however A water-bong is not necessarily a waterfall...

Now just take the cap/duck-taped socket off the bottle, Get a new bottle and cut a little hole at the bottom that you can cover with your thumb. Fill that up with water while keeping your thumb on the hole. Next screw the cap/socket(this is called a bowl)SO screw the bowl onto the bottle(bong) Put your weed in, and then take your thumb off the hole. Next before too much water escapes put the flame to the weed. The smoke will be sucked right into the bottle and will fill it up. When the last of the water leaves.(you can leave some water in if u want a bubbly noise when you toke) Then you put your thumb back over the hole,

Next You have to unscrew the bowl and before too much smoke escapes(it shouldn't if your thumb is on correctly) Take the biggest toke of your life, or choke and cough and want to die. :rastasmoke: Or if you're a wuss you can just take dainty tokes and cover the top of it with your hand in-between.

A good alternative to the 2 liter bottle is taking 2 or 3 watterbottles and cutting the bottoms/tops and duck-taping it into a big ass bottle that flows smoothly. If you do it right it actually looks pretty sick. Make sure to take labels off so you can see your smoke.

The definition of a traditional hookah is more than the multiple tube.

The way a hookah smokes up tobacco (Shisha) is by having a hot coal over the top of it. Many hookah's have only 1 tube. They also filter through water like a bong but it's really the ignition process that makes a bong a bong and a hookah a hookah. I've seen bongs that look like hookahs but have the wrong type of bowl on them for that long smoke that you get from a hookah.

I wouldn't smoke weed out of my hookah. MAYBE blend some hash into the shisha.

As for screens, Gauze I find is actually a metal screen while a glass screen (AKA Jacks or flowers) are for glass pieces. I use screens with everything because you lose a lot of smokable material into the water of a bong otherwise, plus cleaning out a bong full of ash is far worse than keeping an ashtray and a poker around.

You did miss Ash Catcher, the optional precooling chamber that separates ash from smoke by gravity for use in a bong. It replaces the slider.

And Glass Wand, the piece of glass you get glowing hot and stick into the bowl to keep the butane out.

And the waterfall is great but if it's a large piece it takes a long time to fill up and makes the smoke kinda stale by the time you get to puff.

My favorite gravity bongs are the ones that use really super-long downstems and water filter the smoke with the same water that's reducing pressure. That's brilliant to me.
