are wood pipes any good

I sometimes see funky wood pipes at the ol headshop. I was wondering if those are any good. Does it give the weed a cedery taste?

wood pipes work fine but glass is better

Yea dude only buy glass, wood and metal are just cheap alternatives. Although they do have some pretty cool metal and wooden pieces, thats not to say i would buy one.

I have metal, porcelin, wood, glass, and stone pieces and have smoked from them all. Glass is the best by far though. Wood can be a nice change of pace, but if you scrape with a knife, its all too easy to get wood shavings in your resin... if you don't smoke the resin, no problem... but I do, so its kinda annoying.

Well, I have a pretty good-sized glass spoon that I use very regularly.

I also have a cool old-man sherlock wooden pipe that my grandfather gave me right before he died. It holds special significance to me and I only break it out for special occasions.

(A funny story about my wooden pipe, a buddy of mine was doing shrooms and I was sitting for him and smoking weed and pipe tobacco out of my wooden pipe. He looked at it for about 10 minutes, then I packed him a bowl and let him smoke it. After the bowl was half-way through, I saw him sort of moving his hands over it and pressing down in odd places, sort of trying to bend it. I asked him what he was doing, and he told me that he was "molding" the pipe to how he wanted it to look.)

So really, it's just personal preference. I really like my sherlock because it's badass and it has a lot of personality. That, and it makes you feel spiffy to just sit there and chill with a wooden pipe.

Glass is the best because you can clean all the resin out after heating it. Resin starts to taste like shit after its been in the pipe a long time, so it's always good to be able to start fresh and taste the green.

Yeah man if you got some cash go with a glass pipe. Mine cost 50$ and it was worth it. It was so much money because it's very thick. They are cool because they dont heat up and you can see the smoke fill up in it as you smoke.
