dextromethorphan (the cough medicine) is a chemical analogue of morphine...it was synthesized from morphine to have more cough-relieving effects than pain killer effects, and what they ended up with is a new dissociative on their hands...ever heard of ketamine, special k, kitty? it's classified in the same group of drugs as K...dissociative anaesthetic, but recreational users don't take enough of the dxm to have anaesthetic properties...it just makes you feel really disconnected, and some people have trippy experiences, higher doses can produce visuals in some people, colors blurring and trailing, hearing voices...it's a cool drug, but it's especially useful when you can't find any other drugs...and it's better to take the gelcapsules than to drink the cough syrup, all that sugar can mess up your kidneys in the cough syrup...and you have to find the kind that only has dxm, no other active ingredients...i recommend everyone try it at least once, 300 mg...most people take 600+ mg to "trip"...
