I am new to growing and need to find a place to dry the bud out. I can't do it in the garage because of the smell. can i do it in the attick? I live in AL so it is somewhat humid here but my attick is always dry aside from humity. it gets Hot in there during the day and stays kind of warm at night im sure in the day it is too hot for fungi to live. I also thaught of possibly doing it outside by making a box out of wood and hideing it in the woods.

Don't dry it. Cure it in a dark cool place.

if you have no other place then you have no other place. guess what? If i'm in mexico and need to dry weed, it's gonna be hot. after it's dry put it into a mason jar or a coffee can with a lid and store it in your basement (or someplace cool). your situation isn't optimal but nothing's perfect. just be careful in the attic and don't get busted. if the smell is too much for the garage, how will it be different in the attic?

i was curious about drying outdoor to. i also live in the south. during the fall it is usually dry so it might work if u set up tarps or build a box. the thing is i dont want to risk ruining my crop since i only have a few plants, then some will be male so thats even less. maybe ill try drying a few branches a week or to before i cut it to see if it works. if anybody reads this who knows please respond. thanks

you don't have to harvest the plant all at once. some buds will mature faster than others. i've never harvested a plant piecemeal, but some people do. if harvesting the plant bit by bit allows you to do so without arousing suspicion, then that's i'd do. if you harvest bit by bit do you still plan on drying outside? i think that'd be very difficult.

booch: i dont know ive never dried outside, i want to see. but i see your point, its not exactly convenient. do you have any knowledge of outdoor drying. i need to know if its possible or a big nono. it seems during the fall whent its dry if you made somekind of leanto with a clothesline running through it it might work. i wish i could dry inside but i have no place and dont exactly want to leave it at a friends house.
