In an area, wooded makes a difference, where the bugs like to over winter around the house and inside. I have a vacuum stick bug catcher to clean them up and do like to take them down into headquarters. Know you guys like clean and sterilize and headquarters is more of an outdoor garden, underground. With a resident ecosystem that includes mice and frogs, even tree frogs. But it seems hard to establish a permanent population.

Then couple of years ago, I found that they may be Asian beetles not lady bugs, freak out. Then after some research they seemed so similar, that I have been catching them again. I don't know if it's a silver bullet, but it makes me feel good.
