Well Hello (from the middle kingdom)
You are correct.
Ruderalis is squat and spindly.
And from that top photo, someone already snatched the terminal "bud"
The hemp plant is very tall and mostly stalk.
Grown for the longest possible fibers.
I'd rake the soil under that bush looking for seeds.
Wait for the appropriate time, and go guerrilla with it.
Then you'll have flowers.
Dunno why, but your little adventure had me smilin' all night.
