How do you use a digital ballast?

Do these just plug into the wall or does require special electrical wiring? I am interested in purchasing a 400 - 600 watt HPS/MH ballast kit. Thanks.

I always plugged into a surge protector, worked fine for me.

Plug the ballast into a surge protector, then plug the light fixture into the ballast and then plug the surge protector into a wall outlet. You will have to put the bulb in the socket of the light fixture for it to actually make light tho ;-)
