Damaged leaves?

I'm new to growing but of course I researched it a lot before I really got into it. She's about 4 weeks old and a few of her leaves look dead. Or starting to die from the stem up. All the leaves feel fine and moist and the 600w lamp is perfect height above it and the fan is perfectly set for circulating the air without overdoing it. Last Wednesday I did have the lamp kind of close to her for about 5 mins while I was moving around some things. I think it might just be heat stress because since then all the other leaves seem fine and now it's starting to sprout even more leaves like nothing is even wrong. I water her every 3 days with 500ml of water and I have not used any nutrients yet. She has the lamp on her for 12 hours and off for 12 hours and she never seems hot or dry. I'm not sure what it really could be and I'd love to hear some ideas on how to make sure she is back to her perfect state.

It seems to me that the light is too far away from the plant. Moving the light closer should make the plant a bit more compact and stretch the stem less, making the stem stronger.

I don't think that damage could be done in just 5 minutes of exposure to a hot light, but I haven't dealt with that so I am not sure. However, I see you have mentioned that you water with only water and no nutes, so it is not nute burn. I also see that you have mentioned that you water with 500mL of water. Is this tap water, bottled, home-RO filtered or anything else? Do you pH test water and runoff from the plant? As plants are growing and develop larger root systems and greater water needs, they need varying levels of water. Do you feel the soil after watering to ensure that it does not need more water? Does water come out the bottom of the planter after watering, signifying that adequate water has been given? Is there proper/adequate drainage either built-in or added into the planter?

I am not an expert and I don't have a TON of hands-on experience dealing with that problem. However, I have done a lot of reading regarding possible issues that I will face with my plants and I've seen a lot of similar issues that people have posted about in this forum. I would start trying to water the plant more. Water amounts depend more on the actual needs of the plant and not on a standardized measurement for the water that you are doing each watering (although it will also be based on the measurement of water that you provided for the plant during the last feeding). Even nearly identical plants that are the same strain, planted at the same time in the same type of soil may need varying water levels. Hopefully your issue is something relatively easy to correct like that!

sorry for asking but do you use a 600 watt light for 1 plant ? becors if you do you are throwing allot of electric away sorry to say but thats allot of money you are using on a 600 when it runs for like 18-6 or 16-8 just use cfl or fluorescent for veg's and then when you flower you can take the 600 watt and add just for you to save some money man or ells if you want to veg's with a 600 watt get some more plants becors you are wasting many money when you only have 1 plant under that




you need to turn the light on 16-8 or 18-6 .. = veg's. summer time.

12-12 is flowering time. late summer dude. i did think you had read allot about it before you started ?

i had mine under 24 hours of light while in veg......8 plants under a 1000W light and switched to 12-12 when i put em in flower. but everyone has there own ways of growing as iv read around....hope she turns out well for ya bro

I ask what kind of lamp that is because it does not look like either a metal halide or high pressure sodium, the two high intensity lamps normally used for growing. If it's a mercury quartz, halogen or some other incandescent lamp that that's something else entirely.
