sundance. Reviewed by sundance. on 11-29-2013. Give us a story. I have wondered about sight for many years. If there had been no sun, no light, no shadow, would we have developed being able to see by some other means, or would there be something else like night vision, or something else, just blind.... who knows. Now, write us a story, it can be silly, science fiction, what ever, get creative. (I didn't say it had to be about the above, but if you want to make something up, go ahead. Rating: 5

Ok, sorry....just trying to give back, not do anything wrong...they didn't have to claim a prize, just a little slow on site.


It was the 4th lunar cycle of the new worlds calendar. Now that our Earth has a 27 hour day, and they are talking like it will be a 31 hour day within 2 decades, our old calendars were no longer applicable. I had seen the changes, almost felt them deep inside. I would sit outside and feel the currents of the air, listen to them whistle through the leaves as I go to my site.
I had decided that I would use an old heating trick I learned from growing my world record pumpkin seeds...(not that I grew world record pumpkins, but purchased seeds from a record winner 3 years ago...but to my dismay the seasons didn't follow their normal progression as the axis tilted and the planet adjusted.
I found some nice patches of ground at the bottom of a pond dams, where leaf covered it thick, and dug some holes as last season began getting cold. Now my extra large compost pile hole is going to become a heating source for my girls I had started inside.
I fill the center with my girl, and place soil from the hole, with my compost around the edge of that, and pray the year allows for an outside grow.
