New guy from WA. state
Hey all! I have been lurking and picking up tips since I started my first grow. I brought back 9 seeds from Maui 2 years ago and germinated them this spring.
8 of 9 came up and then I was stuck...wasn't setup to do anything with them so I gave 6 of the 8 to a buddy who was setup.
He flowered one right away to check sex, and it was a boy. So he wanted them gone....Of the two I kept, I threw one in the outdoor Greenhouse and one on the hill in my backyard.
The dogs pulled the one on the hill out of the ground, (twice) so that was the end of that one, but the Greenhouse one was doing fine. I took minimal care of it, it was lucky to get watered regularly but it thrived. Then BAM, it flowered!
About 3 weeks in I took 3 cuttings because it was the last one and I was starting to get emotionally attached. I gave them to my buddy to "mother" for me while I got setup to do an indoor grow with them.
They took about 3 weeks to get going, but finally rooted and flourished. I built myself a 2 level grow closet in my garage measuring 6' long by 2' wide and about 48" high for each level and bought a 6 bulb T5HO fixture to get started.
About then I figured the mama plant needed to come inside so I got just a 150 HPS to take care of her....but she had Spider mites! I went to the local grow store and got some Dr. Doom spray and let her have it...but read the directions first dumbass! I was too close when spraying and hurt her pretty good.
So....about a week later down she came.
Then I had to learn how to dry and cure properly....always something! Haha
Meanwhile, the clones became the bushiest little bastards I have ever seen! Stubby little guy's, but bushy. I'm pretty darn sure it's an Indica strain judging from the leaves and size, and they are doing great. My biggest fight has been ventilation though....and managing heat. I have the 6 bulb 4' T5 below with a 4 bulb
4' T5 above for vegging and together they do create some heat.
So....4 fans, a bunch of ducting,1 radiant heater, 3 timer's and a whole lot of over Engineering later I have the air and heat exchange all worked out.....Finally.
So here's what I got...4 clones going, 1 Mama, and 2 in flower.
All of them just bushy little bugger's! The flowering one's are maybe 14" and covered in blooms, while mama is maybe 10".
Lot's of learning going on and too much money spent but i'm having a good time with it. I had to add some bamboo skewer's and some string to "open" the plants up they are so bushy, but all is well.
I was looking to SCROG them, but damn! They are so thick with growth I may just let these one's go as is.
Anyway, just wanted to say "hello" and thanks for the great info I have gotten while "Lurking". :smokin:OMB Reviewed by OMB on . New guy from WA. state Hey all!
