MAKING BUTANE HASH COMPLETE WALK THROUGH PLEASE

I've been making some butane hash for awhile now with power 5x butane in an extraction tube made out of glass and I feel like it's just not as good as it can be.
This is the process I've been using and if anyone has any advice or pointers PLEASE do share!

Our tube holds 2.5 oz that we grind up and stuff in leaving about 1/4 of an inch empty, we're using about 60% nugs and 40% trimming and it's probably B to B+ quality pot. We are using about 3 cans of butane which hold 5.5 oz of gas each.
The extraction process we've been using is running the butane through the extraction tube onto a glass casserole dish which we place on top of pans of hot water which we rotate out to be rewarmed as they cool (this is all done outside to be safe) Once the oil stops bubbling we put it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes then scrape it off using a razor blade. After we get it into the container it is be stored into I stir it continuously until it looks smooth. I then place it back into the freezer for a good hour, let it soften, then stir again. The hash usually ends up a nice golden color but still crackles just a bit when dabbed. So anything you can think of that I need to be doing differently please let me know. I really want to try to get it to the quality that the local dispensaries have here in CO, if not then I don't think that making it homemade will be worth it anymore.. (x

I have been trying to find some videos for a couple weeks now and have a couple questions about what I saw... I saw that a vacuum purge method can also be used. I do not have the money to invest in some of the products that I have found but I do have a "save a meal" kitchen gadget laying around in my garage. Is that the same as a "Food saver" and if so how would this be used in the purging process.
I also saw someone using a mechanics tool that bleeds brakes to purge.
I don't have a lot of money to invest but my dad is somewhat of a hoarder and probably has something that can be used so if you have any other cheap purge methods I would really appreciate the help.
Our process now is yielding about 6 grams per 2.5 ounces so I know that there is definite room for improvement if someone could just point me in the right direction!

Just curious here, but what makes you believe that there is room for improvement based upon 6 grams per 2.5 ounces?

I am really not in to BHO, so I don't have much advice, but I strongly recommend vacuum oven purging. Yes, they are expensive, like $1,000 an up!

The air bubbles in shatter probably contain butane.

There is one thing that I can advise that may help improve your product. Put your butane cans and your prepared tubes in the freezer for 48 hours before conducting your extraction process.

IMO you're sticking it in the freezer too soon. Let it chill for 48 hours on that glass... stick an electric blanket underneath it as well, will keep it warm and keep your moisture evaporating... it's crackling cause there's moisture in it... I can't think of the term right now but freezers use a misty kind of freezing method or whatever... ya know how there's usually frothy mist swirling around when you open the freezer, and you get frost/condensation on things that are in there a long time... so if you oil isn't COMPLETELY sealed before you put it in the freezer you're going to add moisture to it.

If your seal-a-meal has an accessory hole + tube + container that you can use, you can kinda purge in that... pretty hard to purge in a bag... in the end though it's really not enough pressure to completely purge it.

The type of butane you use matters a lot, particularly if you're NOT purging... so step up to Newport or Colibri or something...

letting it sit on glass on top of an electric blanket for 48 hours is my biggest advice though

EDIT: Yeah... I just read you're using Power 5x... if you're not purging, you're not gonna get quality oil with that butane IMO
