Closed-system extractors are definitely becoming more popular for people making large quantities of meds. Goldmind is another company that produces them, if you like options. https://www.facebook.com/goldmindbotanical

    Howzit guys?

I do not use butane, and advise against it for several reasons.

I'm too sloppy to do it safely.
Even with a "closed system" some gets "vented".
The smell can alarm the neighbors, (and rightly so), they live downhill from me.
('tane is heavier than air and runs downhill like water)
They light a joint, we all go boom.

Or, they call the fire department, because they smell gas.

I'm a legal caregiver, in a compassionate state, but that means nothing if you are caught blasting 'tane.
There is a federal patent on the butane process for cannabis and almost every state, county, and city has zoning laws that can, and will be used against you.
Any "collateral damage", (kids, dog, neighbors, friends and family), will bring very serious felony charges, up to, and including, manslaughter!

Those should be enough reasons for any thinking man.

    And then, there's this:

For medical use, butane extraction seems to be inadequate to the task.
I have used, Iso, Naphtha, Acetone, etc.
I now use Ethanol in a closed system with very little loss.

Had a dear friend with Glioma Astrocytoma
He had done amazingly well on the liquid solvent derived RSO.
It kept him in remission for a year.
Then I had a crop failure and ran out of oil and buds.
When that happened I had to go begging.

I was gifted some butane derived oil for my brain cancer patient.
Soon after he started on the BHO his tumor began growing!
I obtained a sample of that oil and applied it to abnormal skin growths.
    It did nothing!
Switched back to solvent extracted oil and those same growths, shrank and disappeared in a week.

    Small sample?
    Not solid proof?

Yes, and yes, but the stakes are too high to ignore it.

    Just my tupenny.
    May it serve you well.

    Aloha,
    Weezard

Butane literally boils at 32degrees farenheit. If its purged correctly, there should be no remnants of any butane and will be more pure than the originating plant.
