hello from Oregon
Im the General and I live on the Oregon coast. It is cold and wet here and life sucks because of it sometimes. I am an OMMP card holder and am enjoying the quality of life upgrade that marijuana brings to my life.......especially with all this crap weather. I have Crohns disease, crohns arthritis, and general suckiness.
Anyhow, I posted this in the music subforum, but Id like to add it here too. I did a cover of Johnny Cash' , IVE BEEN EVERYWHERE. I call mine, I SMOKED EVERYTHING and it is about smoking a boat load of strains......and ways to smoke them. Drum machine is the only thing that I dont play myself...its programmed. Id like to get a friend to add the honkey tonk piano...thats about all thats missing.
The link below will take you directly to the song.
PLEASE give it 13 seconds at the front........somehow dead air got added at the beginning...not intentional. I hope you all like it. Feel free to tell your chums and pals and such. Id like this song to make its way around the marijunasphere.
I Smoked Everything (starts at 13 seconds in...... my bad) - YouTube
Enjoy!!!!! And as you are a good friend with the herb, be a good friend with this song and PASS IT AROUND!
Thanks!

hello from Oregon
Hey dude. Figured more than anyone, you will know where I'm coming from. I have no one else to discuss music with now that dad is gone. Way back in the day, he picked with Bill & Charlie Monroe. They asked him to go to Nashville with them, & mom said no, 'not if you ever want to see me & this baby (being me) again'. I'm related to the Carter family, paternal grandmothers side, & would be 5th or 6th cousin to Loretta Lynn, paternal grangfathers side. Dad made beautiful violins, mandolins & guitars, & I started playing at age 4. Couldn't help it. It was in my blood. I play folk, bluegrass & classical, & a lot of old W.V. mountain music. I really miss the mountain music. It seems like no one knows it anymore. Do you? One old ballad, Little Maggie, has been adopted by bluegrass pickers, but one called Little Margaret seems to pretty much be lost. I sing it Acapello (spelling). I remember singing it on Aunt Ollabelle & Uncle Alex Campbell's radio station when I was about 5 yrs old, & then dad & I did 'Tom Duley'. Do you remember any of these old songs? Most are hundreds of years old, brought over from England & Ireland. Damned I miss this shit. Thinking about the old songs & the people who used to sing them is making me homesick for my mountains, & the sweet people who used to sing them are dead & gone now. Never was a cry baby, but I'm about to be one now.
~~~~ PEACE!~~~~
Yep, girls all round momma, her sittin there with an autoharp on her lap. Then after she passed on, just the girls. I never got to know them. Everybody married & relocated before I was born. They all wrote back & forth with dad for a while, but that petered out before I was a teenager. There is the non-musical Carters spread around here where I am, but they're into liquor like the others were into music. That bunch would walk a mile to tell a lie rather than sit still & tell the truth & they have to steal something before they leave your house. They weren't Carter family siblings. They were first cousins to their father...... You wanna hear something funny, been picking since I was 4, be 60 in 4 months, sang on the radio as a child, but somewhere in my early teens, I developed the worse stage fright you've ever seen. Never got over it. Guess it doesn't matter now. Years of chain smoking & breathing problems, arthritis in my hands & fingers, but I still make music for myself when no ones around. I can still whistle, warbler like a bird. That doesn't take the breath singing does, but I don't have the breath to yodel at all anymore. Mostly now I pick some classical & flamenco, or I play & hum folk or mountain music. Fingers & breathing won't me do any fast tempo stuff. I finger pick btw. Oh, you'll get a kick out of this. I played your song to a young friend of mine last night (she's 29) & she got the biggest kick out of it. Made me play it for her a second time, swore it was Toby Keith, then made me play it for a third time! She laughed & smiled the whole time, & that's a GOOD THING, she has major issues with depression & YOU brought a little light into her life. Hope that makes you smile!
~~~ PEACE!~~~

We could file swap if you were interested in laying down a track on your computer. I cant replicate that sound. Or do you play mando? I need that track done too.

hello from Oregon
I wish I could do that so much, but I don't have a computer or the transportation to get to one (or know how to do that). I do play mandolin. That was the first thing I learned to play. I'll see if I can reach an old friend by phone. If I can, it would be worth while to hook you two up. He has instruments all over the house & a couple of computers too. Havent talked to him since his wife died, but he was a DJ for U if Delaware back then, maybe still, & he would have all the equipment for doing that. He had a bluegrass band called Local Corn. I miss out on lot because of no transportation & being to broke to fix that. That would be so cool to make music with someone on the other coast, flip-flopping back & forth like that. I'll try to contact Gary by phone today & send him to the forum with your user name so you guys can talk. It's been 4 yrs since I've seen him, but I'm sure this would still be right up his alley. ~~~PEACE! ~~~
