    Flushing Techniques

There are many different idea's on "the" proper flushing. And I found myself reading tons of threads with questions being left unanswered.
So I'm starting this thread to put all of those answers together, and to give everyone insight on how others go about it..
Please elaborate your method of flushing by answering some of the questions below, or simply explain it in your own way.

    Questions I read A LOT:

When do I stop feeding them nutrients?
    (How many days are needed?)

Should I use plain tap water or Ph adjusted water?

When should I stop watering the plant?

Are there any nutrients/additives that are ok to use during the flush?

Is is best to use a "flushing solution" from the hydro store?

Those are just a few questions I can think of off the top of my head, but if any of you new growers have any more, feel free to ask them here!

    Flushing Techniques

A question please? My plants were planted late & aren't weren't ready yet at the usual time. I planted a clone & some seeds and ended up with all females with the seeds. They're ready now, plus it's getting near freezing up here. I used final flush. I watered with no fert. for a week, then put Final Flush in the little 4' square hole. It's near 5' deep though, with good 4 in 1 soil. 17 30L bags to fill the hole. I put about 27 L of pure tap water mixed with appropriate amount of Final Flush. Half yesterday and half just this morning. I'm anxious to cut these ladies down. How much longer should I just use water now? Can I cut harvest them say tomorrow? Soon as possible, but I'd like most of the elements out. Thanks.

I agree with lipps on the solutions, but I do, however, flush with water with 1tablespoon epsom salts to 1 gal water. Not to aid flushing, but to ensure the plants have enough magnesium. The smoke doesn't burn well if the plant was deficient in mag, & its ok to use as it leaves no metalic taste in the smoke. To flush with plain water with epsom (assuming your grow is in soil, not hydro), I fill the pot to the rim & let it run through 3 times. I do this 2 wks before harvest, then water as needed

I'm new to all this and tried a flush but it made things worse. I don't think I will ever do that again. Mine were outside. I think I will stick with organic next year. Maybe use the 20-20-20 for awhile since I have a huge ass tub of it.

which will it be? organic or the 20-20-20? Using strong chemical fertilizers will damage the bioactivity in the soil and that's not something that starts right back up again.
