    Humidity, closet grow

    My Humidity is DRY, "40"

The heat from the Horti drys things up.

I do not think 40 is the best so what to do?

You need a hemostat to control the humidity and turn on and off a mister to raise the RH level.

A humidifier will also work, depending on the size of the closet.

well I was going to do 16 plants at first. After reading more about my states laws I lowered the # of plants I will grow. I am stuck with a 600w Horti that cooks. I watered yesterday, the soil was dry today

I can leave the closet door open so a fan is always blowing, the temp is around 90F, not to bad and drops to 73 at night.

90 degrees is pretty high, plants like temps around 75-80. Plus, that significant change in temp could stress your plants, causing seeds, and possible hermaphrodites. I suggest getting an exhaust blower for your light, or more ventilation using more fans. Good luck!

so 40's not good enough, i thought it depended on the genetics of the strain. Indicas like dry climates just like its original location, and Sativas like moderate humidity, right. Ed rosenthal's book Indoor grow rooms said this but didnt give the humidity ranges.40-60 or 25-80. What varities like what humudities?

I usually kept my humidity around 50%, and got superb results! From my experiences, I put majority indicas under higher humidity, to encourage tighter budz, and nodes. Humidity also helps the trichomes develop thicker, so again, its really up to the grower to decide what he/she wants. I suggest keeping humidity levels around 50%, seeing as how i got very good results. I am not an 'expert', so if Ed Rosenthal says otherwise, i suggest you follow his guidance, otherwise try to keep a stable humidity around 50% if you want better results.
