New grower, white rings on leaves?

Ill start with my basic info. closet grower, mylar lining, (4) 35W 6500k cfl's and (2) 23W Red/Blue LED spotlights. soil = 60% miracle grow soil, 30% perlite and 10% sand. they are watered with room temp city water. im running 20/4 lighting cycle. oh and i have nitrogen spikes in the soil. I only have 2 plants since this was my first grow and wanted to see if the LEDs did anything. they are 7 weeks old and that is from seed to now. and both have 6-7 branch levels. closet stays at 70 F.

now my question is one from the picture can you tell if they are growing okay? and two do you know what the white rings are from. kind of looks like a salt ring you get on your clothing in the winter I tried to look around the best i got was mineral from the water i use but still not for sure. any advice on my first grow would be greatly appreciated.

Also I have no idea what strains my seeds came from.

Nice little plants, stocky & not stretching, so lighting is working for now. Cant really see the spots good enough to tell what they are, but my guess would be deposits from something in the water that's left behind when they dry. What ever it is, it doesn't seem to be doing them any harm. Try rinsing them off with spring water.~~~~~~ PEACE!~~~~~~~

from the picture you can see i have a bad pot. is it easy and safe for the plant to re-pot this far in or can i raise the soil level and the plant will adapt to it?.

You can transplant any time, BUT, its best done when the roots have filled the pot enough to hold the root ball together. I'd leave it untill then & then transplant up to the next pot size.

Judging by the the size of plant verses container, I'd say you have a way to go yet. I'd just let it grow as is for a while. Its doing great. You know the old saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just remember if its looking good, its alright. Dont kill it with kindness, just let it grow. Its easy to make it harder than it has to be, but relax. It will let you know if something's wrong. It will droop, chage color, get brown spots, all sorts of things to tell somethings wrong. As long as it looks as healthy as it does now, its fine.
---- The more you grow, the easier it gets. The hardest part of your first few grows is the fear of failure.

P.S. go to 'grow logs' & check out everybody's pics, read the threads till your eyes hurt. That will give you a comparison so you'll be better able to tell when your plants don't look right.~~PEACE!~~
